The TVS iQube journey: From a small beginning to a big bang.

We all know the name TVS Motors – a company that has been dominating the two-wheeler market in India since 1978. But when it came to electric mobility, TVS created a stir in the market by launching the iQube in 2020. Initially,

this scooter was available only in select cities, but today it is sold in over 200 cities across the country. The iQube was not only TVS’s first electric scooter, but it also became the first scooter in the Indian market to offer premium features at an affordable price.

When TVS launched the first iQube S model, they promised a top speed of 75 km/h, which was a significant achievement for electric scooters at the time. But over time, the iQube has increased its speed. In 2023, the iQube ST was launched, reaching a speed of 78 km/h.

And now, in 2025, the latest version, the iQube ST with a 3.5kWh battery, has reached 82 km/h. This speed feels effortless, as the scooter provides confident driving even on highways, without any vibrations or noise. Imagine navigating city traffic and then suddenly merging onto an expressway – the iQube will never disappoint you.

TVS iQube

TVS faced several challenges on this journey. Battery technology, charging infrastructure, and customer awareness were all significant issues. However, the company continuously upgraded the iQube. In 2024, the iQube received a 5kWh battery option, offering a range of 145 km. And now, in 2025, with increased subsidies on electric vehicles,

TVS has made the iQube even more affordable. The base model now starts at just ₹1.15 lakh (ex-showroom), down from ₹1.35 lakh. This price reduction was made possible by the FAME-II scheme and TVS’s in-house manufacturing capabilities.

Features that make the iQube a game-changerFeatures that make the iQube a game-changer

The TVS iQube isn’t just about speed; it’s a smart device that makes your life easier. The biggest highlight is its battery technology. The iQube features a lithium-ion battery that is IP67 certified – meaning it’s completely protected against water and dust.

The 3.5kWh battery offers a range of 94 km, while the 5.1kWh version takes you up to 145 km. And charging? A full charge at home takes 5 hours, or you can get 80% charge in just 1 hour at one of TVS’s 2000+ charging stations.

TVS iQube’s momentum is unstoppable: Dominating the market for a long time, and now even more affordable!

Tata’s new 100cc bike has been designed with a completely new and modern look.
It features a sharp headlamp design, a sporty tank cover, and LED indicators,
which give it a distinct identity compared to other 100cc bikes.
According to reports, the bike’s frame will be based on Tata’s patented lightweight metal technology,
which will keep the bike’s weight down and improve performance.

Engine and Performance

This bike will be powered by a Tata Motors 100cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine,
which will generate approximately 8.2 bhp of power and 9 Nm of torque.
The most notable feature is that this bike will operate on a hybrid system —
meaning a small electric motor assist will be added alongside the petrol engine,
which will improve initial acceleration and fuel efficiency.

Mileage and fuel efficiency

This 100cc bike from Tata could outperform other bikes in the market in terms of mileage.
The company claims that this bike can deliver a mileage of 80 to 90 kilometers per liter.
Additionally, its fuel tank capacity will be approximately 10 liters,
making this bike excellent for long-distance journeys.

Suspension and braking

This new Tata bike will be equipped with telescopic front suspension and
a 5-step adjustable rear shock absorber.
The company may also include a Combi Brake System (CBS) in the braking system,
which will enhance both safety and control.

Features and Technology

Tata’s 100cc bike could include several advanced features, such as:

  • Fully digital instrument cluster
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Real-time mileage indicator
  • USB charging port
  • Side stand alert system
  • LED DRLs and taillights

All these features place it in the category of modern and smart bikes.

Price and launch dateAccording to media reports, Tata is likely to launch its 100cc bike at a price of ₹75,000 to ₹85,000 (ex-showroom).
The launch is expected to take place in mid-2026.

Competition in the contest

The Tata 100cc bike will directly compete with the
Hero Splendor+, Bajaj Platina 100, TVS Sport, and Honda Shine 100.
However, Tata’s brand trust and hybrid technology could give it a distinct advantage in the market.

This new 100cc bike from Tata could emerge as an affordable, powerful, and high-tech option in the Indian two-wheeler market.
If the company launches it with the promised price and features,
this bike could prove to be a game-changer for the middle class and daily commuters.
